Increase in Rate

Increase in Rate

Today we are announcing an increase in our hourly rate. The new rate is $75 an hour.

We are doing this to accommodate for a significant increase in demand for our agency and our projections as to how that demand will continue to increase.  We’ve tracked every hour of everyday for the past seventeen months and our model suggests a period of unparalleled growth for our firm in the coming months.

To date, we’ve served 100 clients. Our agency continues to grow and we still put value and fairness above all else in our pricing. We’ve been in business for 17 months and we have become ultra-efficient with our time and extremely proficient in our abilities. We look forward to continuing to work with people from all different walks of life, industries, and sectors.

BBB Accredited Business

Firedove is now a BBB Accredited Business! We decided to pursue accreditation because there are a lot of bad actors in this industry, and the BBB is well recognized as an authority on business trustworthiness by both people and businesses. Firedove is already trusted in Spokane, which was made possible by our initial clients who originally took a chance on us. We’ve received 16 glowing consecutive written reviews to date, lots of verbal praise, and a steady stream of referrals from former clients.

We could be charging exorbitant rates for poorly built websites, but we started Firedove to be a direct challenge to an industry where we saw people getting taken advantage of merely because they weren’t experts themselves. Our BBB Accreditation is us reaffirming that original commitment to be different and be better than our competitors.

Truly fair pricing. High quality end products. That’s Firedove.

Robbi Anthony is the founder of Firedove. Robbi brings a background in web development, marketing, and technology to any project to make it a success. Robbi couldn’t be happier to fly with her own wings as an entrepreneur with this latest, but certainly not last, company.

Mobile App Development

Mobile App Development

As technology evolves, different problems require different solutions. Websites have become a must-have for just about every business, whereas apps are starting to become an amazing opportunity for certain organizations.

As technology evolves, different problems require different solutions. Websites have become a must-have for just about every business, whereas apps are starting to become an amazing opportunity for certain organizations. In the same spirit of providing high quality results at affordable pricing, Firedove is now soliciting app development as a service.

We can help create apps (iOS & Android) for events, business directories, restaurants, retail stores, employee handbooks, and more!

On the flip side, we are not the firm to develop the next social media app, a multiplayer game, or take equity in an idea in exchange for payment. We love those big ambitious ideas, but our focus is on small to medium sized businesses. We’d rather be really good at a few specific things than stretch ourselves too thin trying to do everything.

App development can be expensive, but our wide range of tools and expertise can allow us to create an app that fits your budget while still delivering on all the key functions.

Not everyone needs an app, but if you do, contact Firedove for free consult today.

Audio Engineering (Welcome Kevin!)

Today we are happy to announce that Kevin Partridge has officially joined the Firedove flock! Kevin brings his audio engineering expertise to Firedove. He was able to put together a quick 30 second spot about Firedove to demonstrate his capabilities. Kevin also did the voice-over for the spot. Take a listen below!

Firedove can now offer even higher quality audio production, creation, and editing for our clients than we could have before. This combined with our strong marketing and analytics background allows us to help our clients with audio advertisement creation, targeting, production, media buys, and analytics.

Welcome to the team Kevin!

Audio Editing

Audio Editing

Getting that pitch perfect sound in post-production can be a difficult and tedious task, so why not outsource it to us? Whether it is an audio book, podcast, radio advertisement, or anything in-between we can help create the perfect track for you.

Getting that pitch perfect sound in post-production can be a difficult and tedious task, so why not outsource it to us? Whether it is an audio book, podcast, radio advertisement, or anything in-between we can help create the perfect track for you.

We happen to have a knack for the type of work. Perhaps it is because Robbi and Keith are both musicians (albeit Keith is a far superior one). Maybe it is from the hundreds of hours of previously edited audio for other projects. Regardless as to how we initially established this skill set, audio editing is something of a harmony between our technological prowess and creativity.

Since each audio project is so unique, so we don’t have a set per minute price. Instead we will ask for an audio sample and a list of edits that you are looking to have made. We will perform those edits, time ourselves, and establish a rate or fixed fee from there based upon our standard hourly rate.

We take on projects of all sizes. Feel free to reach out for a free consult. We’d be happy to discuss your project over the phone, via email, or in person at our office in Downtown Spokane.

Truly Fair Pricing

Truly Fair Pricing

We use Bonsai for our invoicing. It’s a really neat system that integrates nicely with Stripe, and it makes managing invoices a breeze. Bonsai has made some of its data regarding freelancer’s rates public, and we have used that data to help inform us as to where our prices should be.

Web / Mobile Industry Average Rates

Industry Average Rates of Web / Mobile Designers on the West Coast with 3-5 years of experience.

This graph suggests that the industry average for web designers at similar levels of experience to us, end up charging folks between $60-80 per hour on average. Robbi has 6 years of experience, yet our hourly rate of $35 is 56.25% less than the industry average. We aren’t skimping on quality by any stretch of the imagination, rather we are providing our services at a price that we believe is fair.

Graphic Design Industry Average Rates

Industry Average Rates of Graphic Designers on the West Coast with 5-10 years of experience.

With respect to graphic design, Robbi has 8 years of experience, and while the average range of prices skews towards the lower end of the chart, the average is between $40-60 per hour. Our rate represents a 41.66% price difference over the industry average. Graphic design tends to be less expensive than website development because designing a static image is inherently less technical than building a website. Additionally, there are more graphic designers out there than web developers.

We are not looking to be cost leaders in our industry. We need to get paid, just as every other professional, and we are not advertising “cheap websites.” We are advertising websites at a fair price.

As we continue to try to buck the industry and bring the outrageous rates to a reasonable level, we welcome you to bring your next graphic design or website development project to us to help keep your piggy bank happy. ??

The Original Co-Founder

The Original Co-Founder

“Why don’t we start an IT based firm in Spokane?”

Over the past six years Robbi and I have been piecing together wonderful ideas and businesses together, and we always had hope that some of these wild ideas would make us billionaires.

  • An equity-based crowd funding website (before the JOBS Act)
  • A tablet-optimized projector
  • A mirror with a computer built into it

And maybe they still will, but we always knew, with our past experience and knowledge we could always do IT in Spokane, as Spokane has everlasting ability to resist change. Well, the dream-team has officially reunited.

I’ve been friends with Robbi for over twelve years. Six years ago we both began our intellectual and business roots over on the west side of the state. I in Seattle and Robbi in Olympia. In these six years we found that we loved the idea of creating new businesses and ideas, hated working under people, but loved working for people.

I’ve done corporate IT before. I worked as a tech guy at an extremely corporate retail firm, and in my time there I learned that tech – in the large corporate world – has been bleached. In other words they’ve tried to make solutions that have a wonderful complex palate of colors into something that’s black and white. The reason technology is so wonderful is because each customer experience should be different, and tech has the ability to be customized on a person to person basis.

One thing I’d love to bring to the Firedove team is to bring more equipment-based thought to our team. I’d love to be responsible for completely setting up a new business: routers, computers, and servers… the works.

I also hope to bring a different train of thought to our customer service experience so that we can hopefully grow the Firedove team throughout the inland empire, maybe even to all of Washington.

I’m the original co-founder. Let’s do tech right.

You don’t want to see your wedding dress in the window

You don’t want to see your wedding dress in the window

We don’t show client work on our website. Just about every other firm like us will show their technical prowess and design capabilities by showing off their work online. We don’t want to do that.

It’s like this.

You just bought a wedding dress. It’s beautiful. It’s everything you wanted. And now it’s yours. This dress is uniquely you. Its design reflects your personality and it hugs your body in all the right ways. This is not just a dress. This is your dress.

Imagine walking down the street the next day. Maybe you are on your way to work, on your way to grab a coffee, or it’s another wedding planning appointment. You look up and there it is, your wedding dress, being proudly displayed in the window. Sure, you still have the dress you just got at home, but this exact copy is now hanging in the window.

Suddenly, something so incredible personal feels a bit less special.

Whether it’s graphic design, a new website, fascinating data analysis, or superb IT support, we believe that the end result is yours and only yours to share. Our name will not show up when people are searching online for your business. There will be no watermarks on your graphics. And the only people who know we worked on your project will be us.

This is Firedove Technology. We are located in Downtown Spokane, and we are ready to shake things up.

Hello Spokane!

Hello Spokane!

Hello Spokane! We are Firedove Technology and we are hoping to be the home and small business solution for all your technology needs. Firedove is currently a one person operation lead by Robbi Anthony.

“I’m tired of seeing people being ripped off for IT and computer services in this city. I want to provide high quality service at reasonable prices. After years of freelance graphic design, experience at an advertising agency, and a decade of being the default IT support for friends and family, I’ve decided to bring those services to home and small business clients in Spokane.”

-Robbi

If we cannot provide a solution for your technology needs, we will happily refer you to a different firm that can better serve you. We cannot do everything, and we are not shy about admitting that. But, if it so happens that your needs align with our skill set, we will give you the best finished product that we can.

We build solutions that can be managed by the client after completing the project. As much as you don’t want to pay us for annual contracts, we don’t want to be a substitute for in-house IT support.

We also would like to thank our initial patrons who’ve helped get this fledgling business off the ground. Thank you Ken Warto, Stephen Anthony, Lily Warto, and Sheryl Anthony!

Hello Spokane. We are Firedove and we cannot wait to get to know you.
